Yes. The Pastoral Center is the property of the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston and as such is to primarily meet the pastoral and educational needs of the Bishop and the Diocese. Recognizing that this is the primary focus of the Pastoral Center, we do offer available accommodations to tax-exempt / non-profit organizations who can provide us with their Federal ID number upon making a reservation. Preference for reserving dates is made with the following schema in mind:

  • Diocesan Use
  • Parish and Parish Affiliated Groups and Organizations
  • Other Dioceses and Religious Communities
  • Ecumenical Use
  • Community & Service Organizations

We suggest that your contact person schedule a tour of the facility during our regular office hours prior to the reservation date. We frequently have guests using the facility. Therefore we discourage surprise “stop-ins.” Please call our Guest Coordinator to schedule a time to visit.

Price lists are available at the time of tentative reservations. Our guest coordinator can answer your questions and provide specific cost-related information.
Pets are not permitted in the lodging rooms or the public areas of the building at the Center.
It is the responsibility of your contact person to make arrangements for payment when reservations are made and to verify these arrangements prior to leaving after the facility is used.
Alcoholic beverages are not provided unless they are included in a “social” package. Use of alcoholic beverages in any public area must be approved by the director.

Saint John XXIII Pastoral Center can accommodate youth groups for more than a day. Sufficient adult chaperones are needed for day or overnight youth groups.

The food service department at the Center has the capability of preparing and serving meals. Please keep in mind that the Center is not a restaurant. Every effort is made to meet special dietary needs, with a fixed menu being the norm. In addition to regular meals, breaks and socials are available.

The Pastoral Center does not have a resident priest.  Please inquire, when making a reservation, about the availability of a Sacramental Celebrant and/or Spiritual Director.
